MD2 Viewer is a model viewer and simple editor for .md2 file types. These MD2 models are common for the Quake engine, specially for Quake II 3D models. This MD2 viewer was Chumbalum Soft's first attempt at a model viewer and it is the base for the newer model viewers created by them, such as the HL Model Viewer. The flexibility that MD2 viewer has was enough for mod developers to make it one of their favorites. With a small download size, developers could view and quickly edit models without the need of opening a larger model application. The application has 3 option tabs: View, Animation and Model Info. With the first one, you can view the model in wireframe, flatshade, smoothshade or textured. In the Animations tab you can view all the animations associated with the model, and you can play them. The model info tab is just a general info page of the model properties. The viewer also allows you to view the model in full screen and also change the colors of the background and the visualization options. Although there are some small problems with some texture files, these are minor. If you still handle MD2 models, there are really not many options in this version.
